Advancing Science for a Sustainable Future

The Institute for Marine and Environmental Sciences Nigeria is a non-profit research institute dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge of the global ocean and environment.

We conduct interdisciplinary research across marine and environmental sciences, addressing major challenges including ocean change, climate change, biodiversity, biogeochemical cycles, pollution, ecosystem functioning, conservation, and sustainable resource management.

Based in Nigeria and connected to the global scientific community, the Institute brings together researchers, universities, government institutions, international organizations, NGOs, and other partners to generate knowledge, develop scientific capacity, and support evidence-based solutions to global environmental challenges.
